Joseph Eugene Fisher, 77, a longtime resident of Poughquag, died on Saturday, May 22, 2010 due to injuries suffered in a car accident on September 4, 2009.
Born in the Bronx on June 20, 1932, he was the son of the late Charles and Henrietta Tisdelle Fisher. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Long ago, Joseph worked as a security guard at Bennett College and at Lumilite in Pawling. He then worked for Rudolph and Hilde Littaver on their small estate in Poughquag as a caretaker of their property for almost 50 years.
On October 12, 1957 at St. John's Church in Pawling, he married Beatrice Pauline Baker. They have been married for 52 years and she resides at the Wingate at Beacon. He is also survived by his daughters, Brenda Ann Fisher, Pamela Beth Fisher and Janet K. Mock and her husband, Frank N. Mock, Jr.; his brother, Alfred Fisher; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Arty, Charlie and Francis Fisher; and his sisters, Henrietta Vavara, Rose Schoen and Marion Lown.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by interment in Clove Cemetery with military honors.
