Joseph A. Fortugno Jr., 62, a resident of Thornwood, died on April 26, 2020. Born in the Bronx on December 23, 1957, he was the son of the late Joseph and Geraldine (Desmond) Fortugno. He loved classic rock music, life’s simple joys, and spending time with friends and family.

Joe was predeceased by his father on March 29, 1988; his mother on December 3, 2017 and his sister, Toedy Fortugno Cioffredi on September 19, 2015. Survivors include his sister, Joy (Joe) DeRosa; his brother, Jerry (Lorraine) Fortugno; his sister, Stella Mendez; his nieces and nephews, Jerry Fortugno, Anthony Fortugno, Nikki (Tom) Denbaum, Samantha DeRosa, Joanna DeRosa, Joseph DeRosa Jr., Melanie Mendez, Joseph Mendez and Jessica Rosvold; his great niece, Cecelia Worthmann; his uncle, William Weinberg, and so many loving family and friends.

Private interment will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
