BEEKMAN - Joseph F. Hardy, Jr., 78, an area resident since 1948 and formerly of Plattsburgh, died on October 19, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Malone on December 6, 1938, he was the son of the late Joseph F. Hardy, Sr. and Marie (Coullier) Hardy. Joe had been employed as a Corrections Officer for 25 years at Greenhaven Correctional Facility until his retirement in 1987. He was an avid golfer who worked for many years at the Beekman Country Club, and also enjoyed his winters in Ocala, FL.

On September 3, 1960 at St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls, Joe married Anita (Perlini) who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughters and their husbands, Lynn and Kevin Pelish, and Terri and Andre Johnson; and his grandchildren, Daniel, Makenzie, Tiana and Andre. He was predeceased by his siblings, William Hardy, Cecelia Cavaccini, and Mary Moody.

Calling hours will be on Sunday from 3-6pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10:30am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
