Hopewell Junction- Joseph F. Hrouda a long-time resident of Hopewell Junction and previously from Westchester County, passed away on November 21, 2021. He was 77.

Joseph was born in Peekskill, NY on August 8, 1944, the son of Emil and Florence (Frederick) Hrouda.

On May 20, 1967, Joseph married Nancy Harder in Peekskill. Nancy passed away on February 10, 2017.

Joseph worked and retired from Bayer Pharmaceuticals in Ft. Lee, NJ where he worked as an Inventory Control Specialist. He also worked for A &P for over 20 years.

Joseph loved his family especially his three granddaughters, He loved to talk to anyone, he was a member of the Appalachian Trail Conference and was a Volunteer for 30 years for the Ralph Peak Hiker Cabin.

Joseph is survived by is son and daughter-in-law Mark and Sandra Hrouda, his granddaughters Hailey, Raegan and Sierra Hrouda, many nieces and nephews, and his sons two best friends whom he considered family Kenneth Coletti and Ralph Bertoldi.

In addition to his wife, Joseph is predeceased by two sisters Maryanne and Margaret.

Calling hours will be on Monday November 29, 2021, from 5-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill Inc. 1089 Main Street Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday 10am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church 106 Jackson Street, and a graveside service December 3rd at Fishkill Rural Cemetery at 10am.
