BEEKMAN - Joseph T. Hughes, 89, an area resident for more than 20 years, died on November 16, 2017 at his home.

Born in the Bronx on May 26, 1928, he was the son of Jack and Catherine Hughes. Joseph proudly served our country in the US Army during the Korean War, and was employed as a bus maintainer for the City of New York MABOSTA.

Joseph was predeceased by his wife, Philomena "Phyllis" Hughes on October 18, 2016. He is survived by his sons and their wives, Joseph and Cathy Hughes of New Windsor, and Thomas and Mara Hughes of Beekman; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Mariana, Joseph and Jennifer; and his great-grandchildren, Isabella, Alex and Matteo.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction. Interment will follow in St. Denis Cemetery with military honors.
