Joseph Martin Lane, 58, a lifelong area resident, died on January 4, 2025 at his home.

Born in Poughkeepsie on December 24, 1966, he was the son of the late James and Loretta (Ford) Lane. Joe was a 1985 graduate of John Jay High School. His career began at Frankie's Superette. He then owned and operated the Red Barn Deli and Market. Most recently, he was employed as a butcher at Hannaford's in Wappingers Falls.

Joe loved to have fun. He was an avid fan of the New York Rangers and Jets. He also loved music and bus trips up north with his friends.

Joe is survived by his nephew, Jamie Lane and his fiancé Michele Aubrey; his great-niece, Emma Jean Lane; his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Lane; his beloved cousins in Newfoundland; and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his brothers, Terrence Paul Lane and James "Randy" Lane.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-7pm. Private interment will be in St. Denis Cemetery.
