LAGRANGEVILLE – Joseph Palmeri, Jr., 87, an area resident since 1969 and formerly of the Bronx, died on April 27, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Brooklyn on December 21, 1933, he was the son of Joseph and Mary (DiPietro) Palmeri. Joseph was employed as an accountant for Courtney Honda until his retirement in 2006. He was a parishioner of St. Columba Church. He was a member of St. Mary's Council #4065, Knights of Columbus, East Fishkill Seniors, Beekman Seniors and Hudson Valley Woodcarvers.

On September 8, 1962 at St. Nicholas Church in the Bronx, Joseph married Louise Paraggio who predeceased him on November 1, 2007. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Joseph Paul and Kathleen Palmeri, Rosemarie Palmeri, Mary Ann and James Martorano; his grandchildren, Amanda and Kieran Bastian-Hamilton, Gabriella Palmeri, and Elizabeth Martorano; and his great-grandson, Emmett Hamilton.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 1-4pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 12pm at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
