Paravati
May 15, 1944 – September 4, 2025
LAGRANGE - Joseph S. Paravati, 81, died peacefully at Northern Dutchess Hospital on September 4, 2025 surrounded by family just 47 days after the death of his wife of 61 years. An area resident since 1998, he previously lived in the Bronx, Yorktown Heights, and Tobyhanna, PA.
Born in the Bronx on May 15, 1944, Joe was the son of the late Joseph and Adeline (Vendura) Paravati. He was retired from MABSTOA in the Bronx where he was employed as a bus mechanic and electrician. Before working with MABSTOA, he was a TV repairman for RCA.
Joe was a parishioner at St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction. He enjoyed listening to 50s and 60s music, and shared this love of music with his family. He was an electronic wiz who could fix anything. Joe also loved computer programming, his Lionel Trains, and being creative and inventive when working on home projects. More than anything, he will be remembered for his ability to lighten any mood with his great sense of sarcasm and humor.
On April 11, 1964 at St. Lucy's Church in the Bronx, Joe married Christine C. (Cerrato) Paravati who predeceased him on July 19, 2025. He is survived by his children, Joseph Paravati, Jr. and his wife Terriann of LaGrange, David Paravati of LaGrange, and Deborah Paravati of Carmel. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Phyllis Mills of Meridan, Connecticut. In addition to his parents, Joe was also predeceased by his son-in-law, Peter Reagan.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 11th from 3 - 7 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
