HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Joseph A. Pisanelli, 69, a lifelong area resident, died on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Poughkeepsie on November 6, 1942, he was the son of Anthony and Lena (Angelo) Pisanelli. Joe proudly served our country in the US Navy. He was employed as a carpenter with Local #323 and Local #19 in Newburgh for 35 years until his retirement in 2001. He was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill and was a member of the Wiccopee Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, cooking, fishing, bowling, playing billiards and sports, especially the New York Yankees and Jets. He was loved by many.
On May 18, 1968 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, Joe married Lorraine Maduri who survives at home. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Christopher and Michele Pisanelli of Poughkeepsie, Robert Pisanelli of Poughkeepsie and Elisa and Ed Sherman of Poughkeepsie; his grandchildren, Brenna, Samantha and Nicholas Pisanelli; his sisters, Louisa D'Aquino of Poughkeepsie, Angela Wells of Peabody, MA and Anne Marie Beesmer of Poughkeepsie; his mother-in-law, Alice Maduri; his very close cousin, Denis Pisanello; many other cousins, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his parents;his father-in-law, Frank Maduri; and his brothers-in-law, Gary Wells and Bob Beesmer.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 5-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 2:00pm at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill followed by interment in St. Joachim's Cemetery with military honors.
