POUGHKEEPSIE – Joseph Poscich, Jr., 91, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2024.
Joseph was born on March 17, 1932 in Croton Falls, the son of Emma (Daros) and Joseph Poscich. Joe attended Westchester Community College after serving proudly in the US Army Tank Corps. He worked for the New York State Department of Transportation for 30 years as a highway engineer and mapper. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his large family. He was a history buff and an avid reader, and he loved politics, traveling, gardening and stonework.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Dorothy; his daughters, Suzanne (Liam) Glynn, and Barbara (Robin) Krulikowski; his stepchildren, Ed (Sandra) Torregrossa, Dody White, Lenore (Wayne) Bailey, Terri (Mike) Maphis, Mary (George) Burkett, Stacy (Joe) Angelo, and Scott (Lori) Torregrossa; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; his niece, Joan Gulla; his sister-in-law, Jean DiPietro; and many cousins, nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly. He will be in our hearts forever.
He was predeceased by his brother, Frank; his sister, Ginger; and his stepson, Louis.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 1-4 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. There will be a service and military honors at 3:30pm.
