Croton-on-Hudson- Joseph J. Pugliese a longtime Westchester County resident, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025 at Sky View Nursing Home in Croton-on-Hudson, NY. He was 91 years old.

Joseph was born in Newburgh, NY on March 1, 1933, to the late Vincent and Valentine (Trapasso) Pugliese. He is predeceased by his wife Rosemarie.

Joseph proudly served our country during the Korean War in the United States Army.

On Jan. 3, 1954, Joseph married the love of his life Rosemarie (Scozzafava) at St.Anthony's Roman Catholic Church in Yonkers NY. They settled in Yonkers NY to raise their family.

Joseph was the owner of Wise Hardware Store in Pelham, NY. In his off time when he wasn't watching sports on TV, he enjoyed golfing, bowling and horse racing at Yonkers & Monticello Raceways. During his retirement he moved to the Jersey shore with his wife and enjoyed the beaches and boardwalks.

Joseph is survived by his two daughters, Deborah Zumpano and husband Stephen of Ossining, NY, Lynne Mastroddi of Croton-on-Hudson NY, daughter-in-law Tina Pugliese of Fishkill, NY and sister-in-law Dolores Pugliese of SC. He was also blessed with eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Rosemarie, Joseph is predeceased by his son, Joseph B. Pugliese of Fishkill NY, son-in-law Robert Mastroddi and his two brothers Nicholas and Louis Pugliese.

Burial will take place on Wednesday January 29, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 209 Truman Avenue, Yonkers, NY.
