Obituary

FISHKILL – Joseph B. Pugliese, a 25-year resident of Fishkill and formerly of Westchester County, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Montefiore Hospital in New Rochelle. He was 62. Joseph was born in Yonkers on January 4, 1960 and graduated from Lincoln High School. He worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 35 years. Following his retirement from the USPS, he spent the last eight years working as a server for Pizza Gourmet in Mamaroneck. Joe was an avid sports fan whose favorite teams included the New York Giants, Mets, and Rangers. On October 8, 1989, he married Tina Marie Impara at Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle. Tina survives at home in Fishkill. Additional survivors include his daughter, Victoria Pugliese of Fishkill; his son, Michael Pugliese of Harrison, N.Y.; his granddaughters, Sophia and Gianna; his parents, Joseph J. and Rosemarie (Scozzafava) Pugliese of Croton-on-Hudson; his sisters, Lynne Mastroddi, and Debbie Zumpano & her husband Steve; his siblings-in-law, Laurie Hess, Albert Impara, Jr., Patricia Impara Johnson, and William Impara & his wife Laurie; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends. Joe was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Carol Impara; and two brothers-in-law, Bobby Mastroddi and Jack Hess. The love and joy of his life was his family. The births of his children (Victoria and Michael) were the proudest and most important moments of his life. With the addition of his granddaughters, Sophia and Gianna, his life had become even fuller. He loved taking family vacations to Lake George, N.Y. every year, going to Giants games every year with his son and friends, and having Victoria, Michael, Sophia and Gianna home for Sunday family dinners. He also had a true love for his four legged family. First he and his family had Fredo, his beloved pup for 14 years, and now Eddie, a new addition to the family that brought him great happiness. He was a friend to all. If anyone ever needed a helping hand, he was there for them. He was as selfless a person who ever walked the earth. If you were lucky enough to know him, you were indeed blessed to have a friend like him in your life. He was a true life George Bailey. Because of all who loved and cared for him, he truly was "the richest man in town". Calling hours will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 1 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY.
