POUGHQUAG – Joseph T. Raffaele, 89, an area resident since 2018, died on June 10, 2021 at the Wingate at Dutchess. He previously lived in Del Ray Beach, FL.

Born on January 10,1932 in the Bronx, he was the son of the late Thomas and Raffaela (DiMeo) Raffaele. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Joe was employed in the trucking and warehousing industry for many years before working at his family's business, The Bagel Shoppe in Fishkill.

Joe is survived by his children and their spouses, Joseph J. and Catherine Raffaele of Poughquag and Teena and Alexander DiNota of Peekskill; his grandchildren, Jacqueline Tooker and her husband Shaun of Roseland, NJ, Regina Raffaele of Poughquag, Joseph Raffaele of Poughquag, Alexis Sheldon and her husband Alexander of Ballston Spa, and Charlie DiNota of Peekskill; and his great-granddaughter, Caroline Tooker of Roseland, NJ. In addition to his parents, Joe was also predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Christina Raffaele, in 2019.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-7 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 10 am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill followed by military honors.
