Joseph P. Rodrigues, 64, an area resident since 1977 and formerly of Jamaica, Queens, died on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Castle Point VAMC.

Born in Portugal on September 12, 1949, he was the son of Delfina Desa Rodrigues and the late Acacio G. Rodrigues. He came to the United States in 1957 and proudly served our country in the US Air Force. Joseph was the owner and operator of Roger and Sons Concrete in LaGrangeville. An avid snowmobiler, he was the co-founder of the Snowrats, a snowmobile club in Southern Dutchess.

On July 6, 1974 at St. Pius V Church in Jamaica, Queens, Joseph married Maria Lucente who survives at home. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his son Antonio A. Rodrigues and his wife Jackie of Beekman; his daughter, Christina Yeffeth and her husband Kevin of Union Vale; his granddaughters, Ava Rose and Olivia Poppy Rodrigues; his sister, Maria Lopes and her husband Adriano; his brothers, Antonio Rodrigues and his wife Ellen, and Manny Rodrigues and his wife Yvonne; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville followed by entombment in the Community Mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery with military honors.
