WAPPINGERS FALLS – Joseph J. Wilson Sr., 86, died peacefully at his home on March 31, 2022. Born in Newburgh NY on April 13, 1935, he was the son of Gertrude Jones. On June 4, 1960, he married the love of his life, Carol (Travis) Wilson at St. Peter's Church in Peekskill NY.

Joe worked in heavy construction with UA Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 21, based in Peekskill, on jobs ranging from IBM Watson Research Lab to a nuclear submarine training vessel. He enjoyed gardening and watching the hummingbirds visit the feeders by the house. He was a talented woodworker and made beautiful furniture, lamps, jewelry boxes, and ornaments as gifts and his carvings decorate the home he shared with his wife.

He is survived by his loving wife Carol; his beloved children Lisa (Steve) Domke of Edina MN, Joe (Kathy) of Albany NY, and Sharon (Jim) of Melrose MA; grandchildren Rory and Fiona O'Donnell; cousins; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be at 10am on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Hopewell Reformed Church in Hopewell Junction, NY. At the request of the family, please wear a mask in the church.
