Josephine DelGado, 75, an Orange County resident since 2000, formerly of St. Croix and the Bronx, died on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Arden Hill Campus, in Goshen.
She was in the education industry for 32 years, and taught at Christian Academy in St. Croix. She was also a member of the Pentecostal Church of St. Croix.
Born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico on July 20, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Anicasia Arroyo SanKitts. In 1961, she married Albert DelGado in the Bronx. Mr. DelGado survives at home in New Windsor.
Josephine is also survived by her son, David DelGado of Maybrook; her daughter, Peggy Thompson of Wappingers Falls; her grandchildren, Allan Paul Thompson, Jr. and Sara Joy Thompson of Wappingers Falls; her siblings, Triburcio SanKitts of FL, Ana SanKitts of St. Croix, John SanKitts of FL and Mary Gonzalez of St. Croix; also many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will begin at the funeral home at 10 a.m. following visitation. Interment will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
