FISHKILL – Josephine Jean DeRuvo, 85, an area resident since 1998, died on June 6, 2021 at the Fishkill Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. She previously lived in White Plains.

Born in White Plains on October 14, 1935, Josephine was the daughter of the late Bruno and Angelina (Spinelli) Valenti. She worked as a clerk for AT & T in White Plains for many years.

Josephine is survived by her children, Richard DeRuvo of Fishkill and Karen Tedesco and her husband Rudolph of Fishkill; her grandchildren Brittany, Daniel, and Sonny; and her great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Mason, and Maya. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard DeRuvo, in 2007 after 49 years of marriage and her sister Geraldine Courcy in 2018.

Josephine loved listening to music and dance. She also enjoyed reading.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 10-11 am at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A funeral service will be at 11 am at the funeral home followed by burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery in White Plains. Per the family's request, all attendees are asked to wear masks to the services.
