Obituary

Josephine G. Doucette, 49, of Hopewell Junction since 2005 and formerly of Yonkers, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Mount Vernon on November 27, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Carmela Nisco Colarusso. Josephine had worked as a Dietician Assistant at Mount Vernon Hospital and as a Medical Secretary for HIP in Yonkers. Most recently, she worked as a lunch monitor for the Wappingers Central School District at Fishkill Plains Elementary School. She was a parishioner of St. Columba Church where she taught Religious Education. She was a wonderful wife and mother who actively participated in all family activities. She was loved by everyone.

On October 6, 1985 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Mount Vernon, Josephine married Robert Doucette who survives at home. She is also survived by her children, Victoria, Robert and Jenna; her sisters and their husbands, Rosetta and Donald Cialini of Hopewell Junction, Paula and John Taormina of Smithtown, Sandra and Thomas Ferraiola of Pawling, Rita and Eric Lang of Warrensburg; her father and mother-in-law, Robert and Geraldine Doucette of Yorktown Heights; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeannine and John Armato of Somers, Denise Leone of Lindenhurst, Michael and Donna Doucette of Warwick; her aunt, Maria Mancuso; her uncle, Amato Nisco; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Monday from 10 am to 12:30 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 1 pm at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
