Josephine E. Kennedy, 91, a lifelong resident of Dutchess County, died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie on Friday, October 08, 2010.
Born in Buffalo on December 21, 1918, she was daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Mikula Miller. On July 15, 1939, she married William T. Kennedy in Poughkeepsie. Mr. Kennedy predeceased Josephine on August 18, 1988.
For 25 years, Josephine worked in the quality control department at I.B.M., East Fishkill, until her retirement in 1976. For a short time, she worked for I.B.M. at their Tampa, FL location as well. She was a member of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction.
Survivors include two sons, William Kennedy, Jr. of Clearwater, FL and George Kennedy of Poughquag; a brother, George Miller of Hopewell Junction; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews.
In addition to her husband, Josephine was also predeceased by her brother, Lenny Miller and sister, Marie Alexander.
Calling hours are from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction, followed by interment in the family plot at Clove Cemetery in Union Vale.
