POUGHKEEPSIE – Josephine Patricia Milton, 88, passed away peacefully at home on May 30, 2024. A resident of Poughkeepsie since 2009, she previously lived in the Throggs Neck area of the Bronx.

Born in the Bronx on November 17, 1935, Pat was the daughter of the late James and Anna (Barry) Kelly. She had been employed by the New York State Department of Health until her retirement in 2009.

A devoted Catholic, Pat also served as a Religious Education Assistant Teacher and Eucharistic Minister and was an active parishioner at St. Martin de Porres Church in Poughkeepsie. She was named the Make-A-Wish Foundation Volunteer of the Year. Pat enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, and sewing.

On February 11, 1961 at St. Frances de Chantal Church in the Bronx, Pat married William F. Milton who predeceased her in 1998. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Anne Poulos of Howard Beach, NY, William and Theresa Milton of Georgetown, TX, Maya Milton of the Bronx, NY, and Theresa and Alberto Sanchez of LaGrange, NY; her grandchildren, Alex Poulos, Christopher Milton, Jessica Sanchez, Ryan Sanchez, Natalie Sanchez, and Amber Marshall; her 6 great-grandchildren; her siblings and their spouses, Margaret Hare, Catherine Bremner, Theresa and Kevin Teehan, and James and Nancy Kelly; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Pat was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Tim Poulos; her mother-in-law, Teresa Milton; and her father-in-law, Sydney Milton.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 5th from 5-8 at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, June 6th at 9:30 am at St. Martin de Porres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
