Joy Vitucci, 77, of resident of Stormville for 15 years and formerly of the Bronx, died on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Putnam Hospital Center.

Born on January 4, 1933 in Plainfield, CT, she was the daughter of Walter and Elsie Johnson Howarth. She was a member of the Hearts and Hand Program at St. Denis Church. Joy was an opera singer and enjoyed skiing, cooking and baking.

On April 24, 1954 at Mount Carmel Church in the Bronx, she married Jerry Vitucci who survives at home. She is also survived by her daughter Liz Conti, her husband Joe and their children, Nicole and Joey of Stormville; her son Nick Vitucci and his children Danielle, Nicholas, Louis and Nicolette of the Bronx; her daughter Valerie Marcin, her husband Christopher and their children Jaclyn, Ashley, Christopher and Cailey of Hopewell Junction; her sister Betty Marcoux and husband Bob of Plainfield, CT; her brother Wayne Howarth of Plainfield, CT; her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Gadinsky and Diana Davis and husband, Jerry of Miami, FL; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. and interment will follow in St. Denis Cemetery.
