Julianne Wishrad, a Fishkill resident for more than 50 years, formerly of the Bronx, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. She was 74.

Daughter of the late William and Mary Magdalene (Stocker) Sponemann, she was born in the Bronx on December 13, 1949.

Julianne will be remembered for her loving kindness and sincere compassion. She always went out of her way to enrich the lives of those she loved. As a young mother, she actively volunteered to help as a parent chaperone for various organizations such as the Cub/Boy Scouts, amongst others, and continued supporting these groups for many years afterward. As a grandmother, she loved spending time with her grandsons, whom she cherished more than anything.

On January 9, 1971, she married Paul W. Wishrad, Sr. at the Nativity of Our Blessed Lady Church in the Bronx. Paul survives at home in Fishkill.

Additional survivors include her son, Paul Wishrad, Jr. and his wife Maureen of Poughkeepsie; her son, Timothy Wishrad of Fishkill; her grandsons, Tate and Luke Wishrad; her sisters and their spouses, Victoria & Ken Carroll and Mary & John Flister; as well as several nieces, nephews, and many other loving relatives & friends.

Julianne was preceded in death by her parents as well as her beloved son, William "Billy" Wishrad, who passed away on June 30, 2001.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 7 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY.
