Karen Ann Eutsey passed away at home on June 10, 2026 at the age of 66. She was born in Valhalla, NY and raised by her loving parents William and Hester Crawford.
Karen graduated from Roy C. Ketcham High School and Mount Ida Junior College, where she majored in Art. She loved to create her beautiful ceramic art pieces, which she won many awards for. In her younger years, she worked as a camp counselor at Bowdoin Park, but the majority of her working life was spent as a bus driver for Arlington Central School District, a career she truly cherished. She touched the lives of so many of her students throughout the years, treating each with kindness, respect and dignity, making sure to say "Good Morning!" to each student individually when they got on the bus each morning and making them feel seen and important. Each Christmas season, she was so happy to present her students with gifts that she had generously purchased with her own money.
Karen's dedication to cleanliness went far beyond her own bus. She turned that passion into a small bus-cleaning business, helping other drivers maintain clean, organized, and welcoming buses for their students. She took pride in creating environments where children felt comfortable and cared for, and she was always willing to lend a helping hand to her fellow drivers.
Karen was truly a giving and loving person. She always wanted to make sure that the people in her care were comfortable and happy. She cherished spending time with her family, especially her precious grandkids. She was very outgoing and loved to entertain. She loved music, singing, dancing, going to movies, going on beach vacations, swimming in the ocean and spending time in one of her favorite places, Orlando, Florida. She was famous in her circle for her potato salad. In the 90's, she actually sold it to a few local delis. Everyone who tried it, loved it!
She also loved watching reality tv, investigative tv shows, and tending to her beautiful garden and her little spider plant.
Since her retirement, she was driving a shuttle bus part time, and all of her passengers loved her as well. She will truly be remembered as a very kind and caring person.
Karen is survived by her former husband and good friend, Ronald Eutsey; her daughters: Shantel Phillips and her husband Olajuwon, and Erica Eutsey; her grandchildren: Kamren, Kenya, and KJ; her mother Hester Crawford; her sister Sheryl Angol and her husband Paul; her brother Donovan Crawford; and her niece Taili, among many other family members and friends, and all of her bus and shuttle passengers she had throughout the years.
She was predeceased by her father William Crawford; her sister Adrienne Hayes; her niece Victoria Hayes; and her nephew Freddie Hayes.
Calling hours will be held on Friday June 19, 2026 from 12 - 3 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill 1089 Main St. Fishkill, NY. Family and friends will be invited to share memories starting at 3 pm.
