NEW WINDSOR – Karl B. Buck, Sr., 88, a resident of New Windsor since 2008, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Emerald Peek Nursing Center in Peekskill. He had previously resided in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Hartsdale, NY, Fishkill, NY, and Laurelton, NY.
Born in Little London, Jamaica on October 20, 1932, he was the son of the late Sydney Buck, Sr. and Gwen Lewis. Karl was a graduate of George Washington University and also studied in Montreal, Canada. For 20 years, he worked in the accounting department for I.B.M., retiring in 1987.
His hobbies included listening to music, dining at restaurants, and watching CNN & MSNBC. He was also an avid New York Mets fan.
In 1956, he married Olive V. Collington in Montreal, Canada. Mrs. Buck predeceased him on May 9, 2015.
Survivors include two sons: Kevin A. Buck and Kurt L. Buck, Sr.; his grandchildren: Danielle Buck, Taylor Joy Buck, Kurt L. Buck, Jr., and Kristopher L. Buck; his great-granddaughter, Alani; and many other loving relatives & friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Karl was also predeceased by his son, Karl B. Buck, Jr., who passed away on October 9, 2019.
A committal service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 14 in the Community Mausoleum at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY.
