Karl Williams suddenly passed away on February 22, 2023 in Brooklyn, New York. Karl Williams was born on January 24, 1957, in Kingston Jamaica. Karl received his primary education in Nassau Bahamas. Received his secondary education in Poughkeepsie, NY when he was in the 12th grade. Karl attended Dutchess Community College. Karl then moved to NJ for a short while. He then moved to Brooklyn, NY and remained for 30 years. In Brooklyn, Karl met and married to Barbara "Kay" Williams (nee James). From that union, they had two beautiful children, Khamali and Kalifa. Karl was employed at Crown Heights Center for Nursing for almost 20 years. Karl loved Brooklyn NY, the culture, people and festivities. Always offering for different family members to "Come to Brooklyn, you'll love it" Karl enjoyed the Caribbean Parades and festivities, cricket, and soccer. He also loved his culture of his Jamaican roots and a proud Rastafarian.
Survivors include his children. Son, Khamali Williams of Brooklyn, NY and daughter, Kalifa Williams. His mother, Carmen Pittman of Poughkeepsie, NY. Sister, Michele Pittman-VanDyke (Scott) of Wappingers Falls, NY and brother, Rayandrea Pittman of Poughkeepsie NY. Nieces Brittanee and Tyra VanDyke. Nephew, Marcus Ramirez. Karl was preceded by his wife, Barbara Williams, beloved Maternal Grandmother, Evelyn Byfield. Maternal Grandfather, Nathaniel Byfield. Father Ronnie Williams and Step-father, Frank Pittman Jr. Uncles: Dudley Byfield, Daniel Byfield and Nevil Byfield. Aunts; Enid Clarke and Iceyline Samuels.
Karl was always smiling and having a story to tell. He will be missed dearly.
Visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm on Thursday, March 9 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A service will be held at 1pm, followed by interment at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, 342 South Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY.
