CHELSEA – Kathleen Turco, a lifelong local area resident, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, surrounded by her husband and children. She was 72.
Daughter of the late John J. and Ada (Weyant) Beahan, she was born in Poughkeepsie on April 8, 1950. Kathy was a graduate of Roy C. Ketcham High School (Class of 1968) and attended the Nursing Program at Dutchess Community College. She worked as a job coach for Putnam A.R.C.
Kathy's favorite pastime was to have a cup of green tea and read a mystery novel, mostly James Patterson, and she also enjoyed completing word search and scramble puzzles.
More than anything else, however, she cherished time spent with her granddaughters. Kathy's family was her prized possession and spending time with them was her priority. She always put her family first and made sure their needs were met before her own. She was truly a selfless person.
On June 12, 1970, she married James Turco at St. Joachim Church in Beacon. James survives at home in Chelsea.
Additional survivors include her daughter, Michele Osinski of Highland; her son, James "Jimmy" Turco & his wife Janet of Hollis Center, ME; his granddaughters, Chelsy Woodward & her husband Evan of Poughkeepsie and Kylie Osinski of Highland; her brothers, John Beahan & his wife Judy of Poughkeepsie and Timothy Beahan & his wife Jaquina of Clintondale; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 5 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6 at the funeral home, followed by interment at St. Joachim Cemetery in Beacon.
