Keith Charles Heady, 56, a beloved son, brother, father, partner, and friend and a lifelong area resident, died on August 5, 2026 at the Hudson Valley Hospice House following a long illness.
Born in Poughkeepsie on January 7, 1970, he was the son of Gail (Laudato) Heady and the late Kenneth Heady. Keith was a graduate of John Jay High School, Class of 1988. He built a successful career as the owner and operator of Shenandoah Homes in Hopewell Junction until his retirement in 2023. Known for his hard work and dedication, he was a respected figure in the construction industry.
Beyond his professional life, Keith was truly passionate about the outdoors. He cherished fishing and hunting trips with friends, and the memories made on vacations in Rehoboth Beach, Ocean City, and Lake Placid brought him great joy.
Nothing in Keith's life brought him more pride or happiness than being a father to his daughter Brooke. He shared many happy years with his partner, Linda Rutheford, whose love, kindness and dedicated care brought him strength and comfort. His beloved orange cat, Princess Buttercup, held a special place in his heart, and he never missed a chance to spoil her.
Keith is survived by his partner, Linda; his daughter, Brooke and her fiancé Tyler; his mother, Gail Heady; his sisters, Kelly Heady and Kim Kuehner; and many nieces, nephews, godchildren, extended family members and friends. In addition to his father, he was also predeceased by his brother, Kenneth Heady; and his sister, Kendra Heady.
Keith's family extends heartfelt gratitude to the many lifelong friends whose friendship, kindness and support meant so much throughout his life. They would also like to thank the compassionate staff at the Hospice House for their exceptional care during this difficult time.
