Obituary

Keith Charles Williams, passed away unexpectedly on September 2, 2023, at his home in Berkeley Springs, WV. He was 56 years old.

Keith was born to Ken and Sherene Williams on October 11, 1966, in Carmel, New York.
Keith was charming, creative, highly intelligent, loyal, supportive, and generous. He had a great and unique sense of humor. Most of all, he was extremely kind and loving, and a true gentleman.

Keith graduated from John Jay High School in East Fishkill, NY in 1984. He went on to attend SUNY Plattsburgh and SUNY Binghampton. As a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit, he co-founded The Cactus Club in Poughkeepsie, NY and went on to open a successful pizzeria in New Jersey. Keith eventually moved to Manhattan and had a long career in media, where he was involved in sales, content acquisition, and intellectual property rights. He worked at Corbis for many years, as well as Discovery, Bella Pictures, and finally, Stride K12 in Virginia.

As a die-hard New York Football Giants fan, Keith endured many years of highs and lows watching his team. He never wavered. He also loved the Cleveland Indians and West Point football. In high school he enjoyed playing hockey, his love for it passed on to him by his grandfather, John Mees.

Keith also truly loved to cook, and he was an excellent chef. Whenever he joyfully and painstakingly prepared something, shortly after serving it he could almost always be heard saying "That's right on time, isn't it?". He enjoyed and appreciated music of many genres. If everyone was together and having a good time out on the dance floor, he loved to dance. Keith liked travelling and experiencing different cultures, food, and drink. He spent many happy times on the golf course with friends and family. He was an animal lover and enjoyed and appreciated nature.

Keith was very happy when he was reminiscing with "His Boys". He took great pleasure in being with and talking daily with his lifelong friends, who were an enormous part of his life and meant absolutely everything to him. He truly and deeply loved and valued his family and all his many friends. His passing has left so many hearts broken.

Keith is survived by his loving family; his mom and dad, Sherene and Kenneth Williams, his sister, Beth Wagner and her husband, John, niece, Claire, and his grandmother, Helen Mees, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also leaves behind his longtime companion, Jocelyn Shearer and her daughter, Cameron Kelly. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Oscar and Luella Williams, and grandfather, John Mees.

A celebration of Keith's life will be held on Sunday October 8, 2023, from 1-3pm at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. Hopewell Junction. 895 Route 82.
