Kenneth Frank Marta, 66, a resident of the Town of Beekman for 38 years and formerly of the Bronx, died on Thursday, October 1, 2009 in Reno, NV.

Born in the Bronx on June 16, 1943, he was the son of Frank and Anna Danku Marta. He was employed as a Signal Instructor for Metro North Railroad in North White Plains for 33 years until his retirement in 2003.   Ken was a member of the Communications Division of the Dutchess County Medical Reserve Corps and the Beekman Volunteer Fire Department.  He strongly advocated organ donation and loved animals.

On October 9, 1971 at St Frances de Chantal Church in the Bronx, Ken married Elaine Yaede who survives at home.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Edward Marta of Fallon, NV, Jennifer Brown and her husband, Zarak of Beacon, and Malinda Marta of LaGrangeville; and his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Zander, Jianna and Zaiden Brown.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.  The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Domingo Shriver officiating.
