HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Kenneth Obiajulu Ulanmo, 38, a resident of East Fishkill, NY passed away at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla NY on Thursday, July 11, 2024. He previously lived in Raleigh NC for a few years as well.
Born in Poughkeepsie on September 6, 1985, he was the son of Peter and Rose Ann (Hickson) Ulanmo. Ken attended John Jay High School where played soccer and was a member of the NY Class A State High School Soccer Champions in fall 2000 as a freshman. The team was ranked 2nd in the country by NSCAA. He also was a member of the East Fishkill Soccer Club, where he played youth travel soccer.
He obtained an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Dutchess Community College, studied Computer Networking and Technology at Ridley-Lowell Business and Technical Institute and was working toward a Psychology degree from SUNY Empire at Saratoga Springs.
Ken worked in retail business and sales, having worked for years at the likes of BJ Wholesale Club, Monroe Tires and Spectrum via UMC Direct as an Account Manager. He last worked as a Retail Sales Specialist at Best Buy, Raleigh NC before becoming ill.
Ken enjoyed going to the movies, attending sporting events, style and fashion, and going on vacations with family. He was kind, compassionate and loving.
He is survived by his sons, Jaydon and Christian; his daughter, Kennedi; his parents, Peter and RoseAnn Ulanmo; his sister, Colette Owens and her husband Christopher; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, niece and nephew and a host of friends.
He was predeceased by his younger brother, Christopher Chidi Ulanmo and both paternal and maternal grandparents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 16th from 4 – 8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, July 17th at 10 am at St. Mary, Our Lady of the Falls, 11 Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls followed by burial at St. Mary's Cemetery.
