Obituary

Kenneth Wessel , 69, a 20 year resident of Stormville and formerly from White Plains, died on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at the Putnam Hospital Center following a long illness.
Born in White Plains on March 25, 1941, he was the son of the late Bruno and Viola Wessel. He was employed as a Design Engineer for Universal Voltronics in Brookfield, CT. Ken had previously worked for Del Electronics in Valhalla, Bruno Wessel Inc. and Selectro Corp. He was a member of the East Fishkill Senior Center where he enjoyed playing poker with his friends and socializing. Ken was a great cook and loved to bake. People would fight over his "Bullah" bread. Every Christmas, he would make gingerbread houses and give them to all the children of his family and friends.
While living in Sweden for a few years, he married Anita Holmquist on July 25, 1964 in Gothemburg, Sweden. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Kenny Wessel of Stormville; his grandchildren, Ashley and Christian Wessel of Stormville; his daughter-in-law, Dorothy Wessel; his brother, Bruno Wessel; and many nieces and nephews, numerous family members in Sweden and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, George and Kurt Edberg.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the Poughquag United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
