Kevin Arthur Lane, 68, passed away on January 3, 2025 at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. A resident of Massapequa, NY, he lived in Buffalo for most of his life.

Born in Rockville Centre, NY on June 14, 1956, Kevin was the son of the late Selwyn and Ida (Arena) Lane.

Kevin graduated from the S.U.N.Y. College of Environmental Science and Forestry, where he was a recipient of the Robin Hood Oak Award. He earned his Juris Doctor from the New England School of Law, and was a founding partner of The Law Offices of Sliwa & Lane in Buffalo, NY, where he lived, raised his family, and practiced law, with a focus on insurance coverage, for over 37 years.

He was a member of the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association, where he played a prominent role in the Torts, Insurance & Compensation Law Section. He was also a frequent lecturer and the recipient of many professional awards and accolades throughout his career.

An avid outdoorsman, Kevin enjoyed ultralight backpacking and was an accomplished hiker, completing most of the Appalachian Trail. He was also a keen gardener and horticulturist with a passion for genealogy and early American and ancient history. A lifelong New York Yankees fan, he loved baseball.

Kevin is survived by his children Tim (Kate) and Jeanne (Gerard); two grandchildren; his siblings Genevieve (Robert), Buddy, Charlie, Selly, Elizabeth, and Tommy; and his two nieces.

Visitation will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill on Monday, January 13th from 12 - 1:30 pm with a service beginning at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow at Cold Spring Cemetery.
