POUGHQUAG – Larry R. Haile, 61, a longtime Poughquag resident, passed away on September 18, 2012 at his home after a courageous 8 month battle with ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Born in Menomonie, Wisconsin on December 28, 1950, he was the son of Robert Haile of Grand Rapids, Michigan and the late Marcheta Haile. Larry spent his childhood in Michigan and summers on his grandparent's dairy farm in Wisconsin. After college, Larry moved around the country and settled in Poughquag, NY in 1982. He worked as the construction foreman at JP Cunningham and Sons and Cunningham Carpentry for 30 years.

Larry was a devoted husband to his wife Selene M. Haile who survives at home. He was a loving father and grandfather to his daughters, Kate Del Vecchio and Dana Haile, his son-in-law, Michael Del Vecchio and his beautiful granddaughter, Giada Del Vecchio. He is also survived by two brothers, Roderick Haile (Kathy Haile) and Jay Haile; a sister, Bonnie Haile; and four nieces, one nephew, and a great nephew, all whom reside in Michigan.

Larry was a gentle, kind and loyal friend to all and his amazing smile will be missed by everyone who knew him.
