Laura Ann Diamond, a resident of Beacon since 1976 and formerly of Peekskill, died unexpectedly at home on Monday, January 2, 2012. She was 58.
Born in Peekskill on March 25, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Fred Semlear and Pearl Larsen Semlear. Laura graduated from Peekskill High School in 1971. She was also a graduate of Krissler Business Institute.
On January 25, 1975, Laura married Edward Diamond in Peekskill.
Her husband survives at home. Additional survivors include her daughter, Sara Diamond of Queens; sisters, Dr. Cynthia Semlear Avery of New Orleans and Teri Semlear Powles of Pine Bush; her stepmother, Christine Semlear of Peekskill; also several nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives & friends. Laura spent countless hours volunteering to help people in any way she could.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 on Friday at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
