Laura P. Dougherty, 52, a resident of the Town of East Fishkill for 25 years, formerly of the Bronx, died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie on Wednesday, January 13, 2010.
Laura loved going to the beach and enjoyed many hobbies including gardening and boating.  For many years, she volunteered for the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation.
Born in the Bronx on March 24, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Irene Dacko Panattieri. On April 30, 1995, she married Bob Dougherty at The Meadowbrook in New Windsor.
Her husband survives at home.  Laura is also survived by her daughter, Erica Toniuk of Fishkill; her step-son, Shane Dougherty of Chicago, IL; her step-daughter, Aubrey Dougherty, along with her son of Chicago, IL; her sister, Dona P. Frank and her husband Sheldon of Wappingers Falls; her nephew and niece, Gary and Jessica Frank of Wappingers Falls; and also many other loving family members and friends.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 100 Jackson St., Fishkill, followed by entombment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
