Laura Giannasca, a ten-year resident of Wappingers Falls, formerly of Yonkers, died following a long illness on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 67.
Daughter of the late Frank and Doris (Parker) DePolo, she was born in Mount Vernon on November 30, 1946.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Giannasca of Wappingers Falls; her son, Michael A. Giannasca & his wife Diana of Bronxville; her son, Richard Giannasca & his wife Athena of Yorktown Heights; her daughter, Denise Giannasca & her husband Rich Madaffari of Wappingers Falls; and her grandchildren, Michael, Richie Alyssa, and Juliana. She is also survived by many other loving relatives & friends.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 12 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
