Laura Lorraine Herrmann, 70, passed away at home in Wappingers Falls, NY on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, following a courageous battle with peritoneal cancer.
A local area resident for nearly 40 years, she previously resided in Westchester County, Long Island, and Florida.
Daughter of the late Catherine (Diachenko) and Joseph Frischmann, she was born in Yonkers on September 8, 1952.
Laura was a woman of strong Christian faith. She was an avid reader and skilled writer who composed poetry, short stories, and children's stories. She loved collecting antiques and other crafts. Laura also loved animals, especially her beloved miniature poodles. She was always fond of the time she spent in Florida running The Elephant's Trunk II, a boutique shop she managed with her former husband. And we must not leave out... Laura was Rod Stewart's #1 fan!
More than anything else, Laura loved her family unconditionally. A vibrant and truly unique woman, her humor was unparalleled and compassion immeasurable. Laura will be forever remembered as an extraordinary mother and "MiMi" to her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Brook LaDue & her husband Glenn of Tuckahoe, NY; her son, Jesse Herrmann of Wappingers Falls, NY; her grandchildren, Maxx, Devon, Myla, and Jesse; her sister, Joyce Vogt; her brother, Harry Feineis; her former husband and loyal friend, Robert D. Herrmann; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives & friends.
She was predeceased by her parents as well as her brother, George E. Feineis.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
