Lawrence Bates' Obituary
Lawrence E. "Larry" Bates, 59, a lifelong area resident, died on January 17, 2015 at Mid Hudson Regional Hospital.
Born on December 14, 1955 in Newburgh, he was the son of Lawrence and Louise Birch Bates. Larry proudly served our country in United States Marine Corps. He was employed by Metro North Railroad as a sheet metal worker until his retirement 9 years ago.
Larry is survived by his former wife, Dawn Bates; and his children, Ashley Bates and Michael Bates of Hopewell Junction.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 11am- 12pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction, NY 12533. A memorial service will be held at 12pm followed by military honors.
