Lawrence Charles Meyer, 68, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 16 years and formerly of the Bronx, died on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at his home.
Born in the Bronx on December 21, 1946, he was the son of Lawrence and Katherine Hughes Meyer. Larry proudly served our country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and was employed by NYPD in the 43, 23 and 48 Precincts until his retirement as a Detective. He was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction, and a member of the Theodore Korony Post, American Legion in Throgs Neck, the NYPD Police Benevolent Association, and the Detective Endowment Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and facebooking.
On June 2, 1968 at St. Helen’s Church in the Bronx, Larry married Barbara Pilecki who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughter, Donna Frawley and her husband Patrick of Hopewell Junction; his granddaughter, Caitlin Frawley; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Barbara Meyer of Las Vegas, NV; and his niece, Theresa Meyer.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday at 9:30am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery with military honors.
