Lawrence Schwalie's Obituary
Lawrence Schwalie, 81, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1970 and formerly of the Bronx, died on July 28, 2016 at Calvary Hospital.
Born in Romania on August 16, 1934, he was the son of Lorenz and Anna Schiller Schwalie. Lawrence served in the US Army and was employed as a machinist. He also enjoyed traveling and ballroom dancing.
Lawrence was predeceased by his first wife, Maria Martini; and his second wife, Theresa Lillis. He is survived by his daughter, Maryanne Lord and her husband Alan of Smithville Flats; his son, Larry Schwalie and his longtime girlfriend, Sandra Brockway of Saugerties; and his grandchildren, Danielle and Andrew Singer, Craig Lord and Scott Lord.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 11am at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, 342 South Avenue, Poughkeepsie. Please visit Lawrence's Book of Memories at www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
