Lea Cavalea Wallace, 86, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 17 years and formerly of Port Chester, died on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Port Chester on February 10, 1929, she was the daughter of John and Mary Giancinto. Lea was employed as a technician for United Hospital in Port Chester, and then by the Wappingers Central School District at Fishkill Plains Elementary School. She was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill. She had been a professional dancer and was a phenomenal artist.

Lea is survived by her daughter, Moi LaBounty and her husband Ed with whom she made her home; her granddaughter, Gillian Versace; her sisters, Vera Cacioppo and Alba Purdy and her husband Tracey; her sister-in-law, Gail Giancinto; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Wallace; and her brother, Josh Giancinto.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc, 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday at 10am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 103 Jackson Street, Fishkill.

For many years, Lea and her family have raised money through their family business, Fast Eddie's, for a local organization that helps children and their families as they fight cancer.
