Lena A. Florin, a resident of the Wingate at Beacon for three years died on Wednesday, July 17, 2013. She was 95.
Daughter of the late Emanuel and Augustina Riccutti Carlucci, she was born in Yonkers on June 11, 1918.
Before moving to the local area, she had resided in Cortlandt Manor for 7 years, Florida for 17 years, but lived most of her life in Yonkers. Lena was employed by the Yonkers School District for nearly 20 years and retired in 1980.
On January 14, 1939, she married Gerald Florin in Yonkers. He predeceased her on August 31, 1995.
Survivors include her daughter, Geraldine DeCola of Cortlandt Manor; son, Donald Florin (Rosemary) of Myrtle Beach, SC; son, Lee Florin of Daytona Beach, FL; daughter-in-law, Louise Florin of Fishkill; her grandchildren, Lisa Kelly (Joe), Debbie DeLuca (Michael), Geraldine Gleason (Richard), Darlene Martello (John), Donald Florin (Lina), Kimberlee Lisella, and Jerry Lee Florin; her great-grandchildren, Vincent, Joseph, Karissa, Thomas, Richard, Vittoria, Alexandra, Gianna, Angelina, Lucia, and Sophia; and many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives & friends.
In addition to her parents & husband, Lena was also predeceased by her siblings, Angie, Lilly, Mary, Millie, and Joe.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 18 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 19 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will be followed at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley.
