Leonilda "Aunt Nini" Maniaci, 83, an area resident since 2008 and formerly of Greenwich, CT, died on March 13, 2022 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Abruzzo, Italy on July 9, 1938, she was the daughter of Donato and Concetta (Tamburrino) Furia. Nilda worked as an Insurance Agent for many years. She was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction.

Nilda enjoyed traveling to Italy, spending time with family and friends, playing cards, and she had a passion for shoes and fashion. More than anything, she loved her nieces and nephews.

Nilda is survived by her brother, Anthony Furia and his wife Mary; her sister, Diana Carozza and her husband Fernando; her nieces and nephews, Frank and Ana Carozza, Artie and Christina Carozza, Danny and Diana Carozza, Danny Furia, Anthony Furia, Connie and LJ; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Victor Maniaci; and her nephew, Fernando Carozza.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 11:30am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by entombment in the Community Mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
