Leonora Clarete Paras, 67, a resident of the United States since September 3, 1999, died on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at the Putnam Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in San Pascual, Batangas City, Philippines on April 22, 1944, she was the daughter of Buenaventura and Leoncia Axalan Clarete. She loved to watch movies from the Philippines.
Leonora is survived by her husband, Efren Paras Sr.; her children, Maria Theresa Barrett and her husband Harold of Hopewell Junction, Eliza Elsbree of Poughkeepsie, Eloisa Lisella of Wappingers Falls and Efren Paras Jr. of Wappingers Falls; her grandchildren, John Kenneth Paras, Khristine Jade Paras, Samantha Norinna Barrett, Gabrielle Ann Elsbree, Kristopher James Lisella and Kayleigh Jenna Lisella; her siblings, Ofelia Manalo, Consuelo Clarete, Ben Clarete, Yolanda Clarete and Rodrigo Clarete; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Celestino Clarete who died just 5 minutes before her in the Philippines.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Interment will be in the Philippines.
