Obituary

EAST FISHKILL – Leslie Lankester, 71, an area resident since 1971, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at home.

Born in Yonkers on March 25, 1943, he was the son of the late Leslie Lankester and Alice (Sheehan) Maier. On December 5, 1965 at St. Mary’s in Yonkers, Leslie married Patricia (McLean) Lankester who survives at home.

Leslie proudly served our country in the United Sates Navy from 1965-1970. He was the owner and operator of Tri County Diesel in Cold Spring and Wappingers Falls since 1970. He took pride in his work, and dedicated his life to taking care of his business. He enjoyed photography as a hobby.

In addition to his wife and mother, Leslie is survived by his daughter, Alicia Lyons and her husband Commander Adam Lyons, US Navy serving in Guam; his grandchildren, Julia and Ian Lyons who will always remember him as an awesome grandpa; his sister, Marilyn Baginski and her husband Peter of Cortlandt Manor; and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his son, Brian Scott Lankester on July 8, 2013.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-5pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction with military honors.
