Libonia “Libby” A. Fodera, 81, a resident of Fishkill for 10 years and previously of Garfield, NJ, and Brooklyn, died on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh.

Born on December 10, 1935 in Brooklyn, Libby was the daughter of Giuseppe and Mary (Vultaggio) Fodera. She worked in the credit department for European American Bank in Manhattan before her retirement.

Libby was a member of the St. Mary’s Columbiettes and an avid cruiser. She volunteered at St. Mary’s in Fishkill and enjoyed spending her time at the Fishkill Senior Center and helping knit prayer shawls.

Survivors include her siblings, Rosaria Thompson of Poughkeepsie, John of Hopewell Junction, Peter and his wife Barbara of East Rutherford, NJ, and Frances Schicchi of North Carolina; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, one great great niece, and lots of loving friends.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 1-4pm and 7-9pm at McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main St. Fishkill. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11:30am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson St. Fishkill. Entombment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa, NJ.
