Obituary

Liebert J. “Chip” Masterjoseph, 75, a 10 year resident of Hopewell Junction and formerly of Yonkers, died on Monday, May 9, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Yonkers on July 25, 1935, he was the son of Rocco P. and Claire B. Flower Masterjoseph. Chip served in the US Navy as a Reservist and was employed as a Power Technician for Verizon in White Plains for 36 years until his retirement in 1992.
Chip was a former parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St. Anthony Church. He was a member of the NRA and the Siberian Rod and Gun Club. A man of many hobbies, he enjoyed painting and drawing and loved all animals. He most especially enjoyed spending time with friends and family at his vacation home in Saranac.
On May 18, 1958 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Yonkers, Chip married Marie Giannotto who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughters, Lee DiLello and her husband Lou of Stormville, Maria Sudol and her fiancé Victor Gutierrez of Pleasant Valley and Christine Harsaghy and her husband Scott of Stormville; his grandsons, Nicholas and Michael DiLello of Stormville; his brothers, Joseph Masterjoseph and his wife Peggy of Stonington, CT and Robert Masterjoseph; his aunt, Mary Masterjoseph of Yonkers; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
