NEWBURGH – Lilias Ann Guiles, 71, an area resident for 40 years and formerly of the Bronx, died on September 27, 2021.

Born in Paterson, NJ on May 12, 1950, she was the daughter of Patrick and Sarah (Mooney) McCourt. Lilias had been employed as a bookkeeper for Buy Rite Oil in LaGrangeville. She enjoyed ceramics and scratch off tickets.

On May 22, 1971 at St. Monica's Church in Manhattan, Lilias married Kenneth E. Guiles who survives at home. She is survived by her children, Alyson Ann Pelletier and her husband John, Patricia Shaffer and Kenneth P. Guiles and his wife Kelly; her grandchildren, Tyler, Aidan, Devin, Billy, Corrina, Candace, Taylor and Kylie; her sisters and their husbands, Patricia and Ray Gallagher, Mary and Anthony Bednarz; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sara Guiles, on January 28, 2021.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-7pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 10:30am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction.
