Lillian A. Dietz, 89 of Fishkill, NY passed to her beautiful reward on January 8, 2024 surrounded by loved ones at her daughter Annie's home in East Greenbush N.Y.
Lillian Agnes Carron was born on February 19, 1934 on Bailey Avenue in the Bronx to the late William and Lillian (O'Connell) Carron. She grew up attending Catholic schools and was bestowed the "General Excellence" award from the Church of the Visitation School. She graduated as an RN from Mount St. Vincent in 1955 and began her first job working at the Veterans Administration. In 1956 Lillian married Robert M. Dietz and began her family, first in the Bronx, and then in Hartsdale where she remained for 40 years before retiring to Fishkill.
Lillian was recognized by her winning smile and always enjoyed being around people. In Hartsdale, where she was known as the "nurse of Jean Lane," she and her late husband enjoyed entertaining and opening their home to their neighbors and friends and family of her eight children. She was always a woman of faith and an avid reader who loved travel and adventure. In her later years at Fishkill, she enjoyed the social activities of the Widow and Widowers Club and playing Bingo every Friday at the Regency. Lillian also starred with three of her best friends in the "Golden Gals" episode of My Grandmother's Ravioli with Mo Rocca.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lillian was predeceased by her daughter Elizabeth Seton Dietz, granddaughter Peasley, brother Donald Carron and her sister Helen Patricia McLaughlin. She is survived by seven children: Michael (Eileen) Dietz of Wappingers Falls, William (Mary Turturro) Dietz of Trout Creek, Annie (John) Conte of East Greenbush, Robert (Kristin Kifolo) of Bonita Springs, FL, Teresa (Kevin) Pristash of Cortland, John (Sheila) Dietz of Scarsdale, and Lilly (Chef Ted) currently of Guadalajara, Mexico; as well as her sister Anne Flinter of Longboat Key, FL., fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews and family friends.
When asked by one of her grandchildren how she wanted to be remembered, Lillian answered: "I'd want them to think I was a good loving mother, and I hope I made people happy sometimes, and laugh…That's how I want to be remembered."
