EAST FISHKILL – Lillian F. Rutledge Maskiell, 99, an area resident since 1965 and formerly of Astoria, died on December 26, 2021, just two weeks shy of her 100th birthday.
Born in Brooklyn on January 9, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Anna (Burns) Hulse. Lillian had been employed as an office manager for Dr. Whitefield's Veterinary Office in Hopewell Junction.
Lillian is survived by her daughter, Lillian Hughes; her son, Michael Goodwin and his wife Kristine; her grandchildren, Carol Ann, Megan, Malulani, Robert, Brian and Deborah; and her great-grandchildren, Michayla, Dylan, Aria, Journey and Kaylee. She was predeceased by her husbands, Philip Maskiell and Gregory Rutledge; and her son-in-law, Robert Hughes.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-5pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
